Conflux Records is a Vancouver, British Columbia based independent label. We are currently working exclusively with only one band: Hail The Villain. Produced by Darryl Romphf, Engineered by Alex 'Condor' Aligizakis, Mixed by Mike Fraser, Artwork by Paul Ainsworth Biography: Conflux Records is a Vancouver, British Columbia based independent label based on the combined efforts of Engineer Alex "Condor" Aligizakis, and Producer Darryl Romphf. Darryl and Condor both emerged from under industry veteran GGGarth Richardson, (Rage Against the Machine, Mudvayne, Trapt, Chevelle) and teamed up quickly as a Producer / Engineer duo. They discovered that they made a deadly team, with Darryl coming from a more producer and songwriter's perspective, and Condor leaning more towards the technical side. In spring of 2006, Darryl and Condor, or what would be referred to in the future as Conflux Records, began working with Oshawa rockers Hail the Villain, formerly known as Farenheit. They developed a great relationship, spending time in the Villain's jamspace in a revamped Oshawa high school. From there the recording of Hail the Villain's debut album, Population Declining, began. Next were many long sessions in Mississauga's Metal Works Studios, as well as at a farm based studio in Dashwood, Ontario (close to Grand Bend) named Dashwood Recording Company. Great vibes, great band, and most importantly, great songs. The makings of something special had begun. The initial recording project, funded personally by the Villains, led to Conflux Records' birth. Upon completion of the first half of what would later be named Population Declining, Condor was able to secure some independent investment capital; enough to finish a full length record, and in the summer of 2006 Conflux Records was born. Conflux Records provided the platform for Hail the Villain to produce a full length record, which was -- through a somewhat obvious Vancouver based connection -- mixed by super rock legend Mike Fraser, (AC/DC, Metallica, Aerosmith, Joe Satriani). Mike took what Darryl and Condor had laid as a strong foundation, and sent it through the roof! Conflux Records also provided the Villains with a first run of discs, and merchandise; Hail the Villain was off to the races. Since the independent release, (April 2007) of their debut CD, Population Declining, Hail the Villain has been enjoying much success, constantly blowing people away at live shows and expanding fanbase at a somewhat alarming pace; not to mention signing on with touring powerhouse, the Agency Group and booking agent Paul Gourlie. To date, Hail the Villain has sold over 1,000 discs, and plenty of t-shirts, hoodies, and g-strings; and Conflux Records has reinvested a portion of their recoupment back into the Villains. Conflux Records' future interests are currently set on breaking Hail the Villain.
